At about 6:45 PM on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 members of the District A-7 Drug Control Unit (East Boston) made an onsite firearm arrest in the area of Clippership Lane and Sumner Street in East Boston.  While on directed patrol, officers observed a large group of males loitering in the rear of 8 Clippership Lane. Officers further observed a “No Trespassing” sign posted in the vicinity of the group. As officers continued their observations, one of the males separated himself from the group and begin to walk away while clutching the front of his waistband. Officers approached the male who immediately began running away from officers while continuing to clutch his waistband. The male was quickly apprehended and officers were able to recover a loaded .22 caliber firearm with the assistance of a BPD K-9. The male, later identified as Remi Jones, 24-years-old, of Revere, was placed into custody.

Jones is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Trespassing. Jones is expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court.
