One Less Gun: Call from a Concerned Community Member Enables BPD Officers to Safely Recover Unattended Firearm in Roxbury

ONE LESS GUN: At about 12:43PM, on Saturday, December 1, 2018, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for a found firearm in the area of Allerton and Rustfield Streets. On arrival, officers spoke to the community member who discovered the firearm and called police. According to the community member, he was driving down Rustfield Street with his family when he observed what appeared to be a firearm lying on the ground in the area of the U- Haul parking lot. Upon seeing the firearm, he quickly called police and the men and women of the BPD are most assuredly grateful and glad that he did. The firearm, a 380 Pietro Beretta, was safely recovered and logged into evidence.
