Keeping Boston Safe: BPD Officers Arrest 2 B&E Suspects within 6 Hours in 2 Separate Incidents in Brighton

In the BPD’s ongoing efforts to protect and serve the people of Boston as well as their property, officers from District D-14 (Brighton) apprehended 2 individuals caught in the act breaking into 2 separate properties in Brighton. The first incident occurred at about 4:10pm in the area of 47 Park Vale Ave while the second incident occurred, approximately 6 hours later, at about 9:55pm in the area of 202 Market Street.

The facts and circumstances surrounding both incidents are as follows:

INCIDENT #1: About 4:10pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, officers from District D-14 (Brighton) responded to a call for a person breaking into a residence in area of 47 Park Vale Street in Brighton. According to witnesses, an Asian male, wearing all black clothing and carrying a black bag, was seen entering the building after climbing onto a 2nd floor balcony. Responding officers stopped an individual fitting the description of the suspect within a few blocks of the break-in. The suspect was returned to the scene of the incident where he was positively identified by those who witnessed the break-in.   

Officers arrested Quang Nguyen, 50, of Boston and charged him with Residential Burglary and Receiving Stolen Property.

INCIDENT #2: About 9:55pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, officers from District 14 (Brighton) responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering in the area of 202 Market Street. According to callers, the suspect, described as a black male wearing a dark-colored coat, was seen turning door knobs and trying to gain access to several apartments located in the rear of the building. Additionally, the suspect was seen looking through several cars parked in the area. On arrival, officers located a male fitting the description of the suspect. When asked to explain why he was in the area in light of a clearly posted ‘No Trespassing’ sign, the suspect was unable to provide an adequate or articulate response. A search of the suspect enabled officers to recover several items stolen out of a motor vehicle to one of the residents of the building.      

Officers arrested Anthony Knight-Dingle, 31, of Boston and charged him with Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle (Nighttime), Attempting Breaking & Entering a Residence (Nighttime), Receiving Stolen Property and Trespassing.
