Community Alert: BPD Seeks Public’s Help in Effort to Identify Person of Interest in Connection to a Breaking and Entering and Indecent Assault in area of Hemenway Street and Westland Avenue

The Boston Police Sexual Assault Unit is releasing the above video of a person of interest wanted for questioning relative to an indecent assault which occurred in the area of Hemenway Street and Westland Avenue. Anyone with any information relative to the individual’s identity is asked to call police.

At about 6:00 AM on Saturday, February 24, 2018, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to a call for a breaking and entering in the area of Hemenway Street and Westland Avenue. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that a male suspect entered her apartment and indecently assaulted her. According to the victim, she immediately screamed and scared the suspect off. Suspect is described as a black male with short hair, dark-colored shirt, light-colored pants and sneakers. A search of the area for the suspect proved unsuccessful.    

The Boston Police Sexual Assault Unit is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with any information relative to the identity of the individual pictured is strongly urged to contact detectives assigned to the Sexual Assault Unit at (617) 343-4400.
