Safer Boston: BPD Officers Continue to do their Part in Taking Illegally-Possessed Firearms off the Streets of Boston

At about 6:30 PM on Friday, March 16, 2018, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force conducted a firearm investigation in the area District B-3 (Mattapan). As a result of information gleaned from the ongoing investigation, officers were able to stop 19-year-old Robert Tyrell Barrett-Scott of Mattapan and found him in possession of a loaded Ruger LCP .380 Auto firearm. Officers promptly arrested Barrett-Scott and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number. Officers have now recovered over 130 firearms in Boston in less than three months so far in 2018.
