Great Work Recognized: District D-4 Detectives Awarded Commissioner’s Commendations for in Depth Investigation into Non-Fatal Shootings in Lower Roxbury


At a recent ceremony held at Boston Police Headquarters, Sergeant Detective Kevin Power and Detectives Darryn Brown, Anthony Cutone, John Kelleher, Kevin McGill and Taylor Small were each awarded a Commissioner’s Commendations in relation to the coordination and execution of a recent joint investigation.

Over the past month, detectives assigned to District D-4 (South End) conducted an extensive investigation into recent non-fatal shooting incidents in the area of the Lenox Street Housing Development which resulted in two arrests and the recovery of a loaded firearm. This investigation was a coordinated effort involving the BPD Youth Violence Strike Force, Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, MBTA Police, Northeastern University Police and Boston Housing Authority Police.

For their hard work and diligence during this investigation, they have each been awarded a Commissioner’s Commendation.
