Boston Police Explorer Yana Lazarova-Weng Chosen for Elite FBI Youth Academy

Congratulations to Boston Police Explorer Yana Lazarova-Weng, who was selected from a nationwide pool of applicants to participate in the Youth FBI Academy in Quantico, VA. There were on only 60 young people from across the country chosen to participate in this elite, week-long youth leadership program. Sixteen-year-old Explorer Lazarova-Weng is top of her class in academics and competes internationally in swimming and martial arts. She wants to pursue a career in law enforcement and has aspirations of being a criminal analyst for the FBI. She has been a BPD Explorer for six months. The BPD Explorers is a program jointly run by the Boston, Brookline, and Transit police departments for young people aged 14-20 who are interested in law enforcement.

To Yana, we at the BPD say, “Congratulations on this excellent achievement and good luck!”
