One Less Gun: BPD Officers Arrest Suspect on Drug and Firearm Charges During Investigation in Roxbury

At about 5:40 PM on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, officers assigned to the District B-2 (Roxbury) Drug Control Unit arrested a suspect on drug and firearm related charges during an investigation in the area of 13 Rockland Avenue in Roxbury. Officers performed a traffic stop and arrested the operator after confirming his license was suspended. Marshall Hawkins, 53, of Dorchester, was placed in custody without incident at which time they located and recovered a loaded .22 caliber Sterling handgun from inside the vehicle. It was later determined that the firearm had an obliterated serial number. During the booking process, officers recovered a plastic bag containing heroin from the suspect’s pants pocket. The suspect will appear in Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number, Possession of Class A Drugs and Operating a Motor Vehicle After Revocation or Suspension.
