Keeping Boston Safe: Officers Execute Search Warrant in Mattapan, Arrest Four Suspects and Recover Firearm and Drugs

After receiving multiple complaints of drugs being distributed in the area of 876 Cummins Highway, members of the District B-3 (Mattapan) Neighborhood Drug Control Unit launched an investigation and were ultimately able to secure search warrants for two residences in that area. At about 6:00 PM on Monday, April 2, 2018, members of the District B-3 DCU, with the assistance of the and District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) Neighborhood DCU, executed two search warrants that resulted in the recovery of the following:

  • One loaded Smith & Wesson .357 revolver
  • Two plastic bags of approximately five grams of crack cocaine packaged for sale
  • One plastic bag of approximately 12 grams of crack cocaine packaged for sale
  • An undisclosed amount of loose cocaine
  • Forty Gabapentin pills
  • Sixteen Suboxone strips
  • Over $280 in US currency
  • Packaging and scales consistent with the illegal sale of narcotics

As a result of their findings, officers arrested 27-year-old Juanquis Demont Hicks of Mattapan and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs. He was also charged with second and subsequent for those offenses. 

Officers also arrested 50-year-old female Zulma Rosa of Mattapan and charged her with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Class B Drugs, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class E Drugs. Christopher Rivera, 44, of Mattapan was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of Class B Drugs. Kaamal Stewart, 33, of Mattapan was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs. A second female, age 58, of Mattapan will be summoned to Dorchester District Court for Possession of Class B Drugs. All those arrested will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
