Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Quick Response by BPD Officers Leads to Arrest of Four Suspects After Breaking and Entering in East Boston

At about 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 5, 2018, officers assigned to District A-7 (East Boston) responded to a radio call for a report of people trespassing in the area of 312 Chelsea Street in East Boston. On arrival, officers observed the front door of the building to be open, providing access to a staircase leading to the second and third floor. The officers proceeded up the stairs where they encountered and stopped a suspect, later identified as Marlon Lopez-Cabrera, 29, of Chelsea. Simultaneously, another officer located a second suspect, Miguel Carrasquillo, 20, of Boston, attempting to flee down a rear stair case of the building. Additional responding units located and detained two more suspects, Brian Cornejo, 21, of Lynn, and 17-year-old female from East Boston, inside a vacant apartment on the second floor. Officers placed all four suspects in custody without incident after determining that they were not residents of the building nor did they know who owned the vacant apartment.  Lopez-Cabrera, Carrasquillo and Cornejo will be arraigned in East Boston District Court on charges of Breaking and Entering. The juvenile female suspect will be arraigned in Chelsea Juvenile Court on one charge of Delinquent to Wit: Breaking and Entering.
