One Less Gun: Three Suspects in Custody After BPD Officers Recover Loaded Firearm During Traffic Stop in Dorchester

At about 5:54 PM on Thursday, April 5, 2018, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested three suspects on firearm related charges after conducting a traffic stop in the area of 17 Harvard Avenue in Dorchester. The officers had stopped a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and removed the occupants as part of their investigation when they observed a firearm inside the car in plain sight. The firearm was recovered safely and determined to be a loaded .45 caliber Sig Sauer P220 handgun with a defaced serial number. Officers then arrested the operator, Zelito Pina, 20, of Dorchester, and the two passengers, Samuel Alouidor, 20, of Mattapan and Belarmino Monteiro, 20, of Dorchester, placing them in custody without incident.

All three suspects will face arraignment in Dorchester on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number.
