Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Arrest Suspect in Dorchester Convenience Store Robbery

At about 12:03 AM on Friday, May 11, 2018, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a call for a robbery in progress at a convenience store in the area of 44 Norfolk Street . Upon arrival, officers were able to review store surveillance footage of the two suspects. One of the suspects could be seen jumping over the counter and physically assaulting the store clerk while the second suspect took money out the cash register. As officers were leaving the scene, they observed the two individuals from the store video surveillance walking on Norfolk Street at New England Avenue. As officers approached, one of the suspects fled in an unknown direction while the other suspect remained on scene.

That suspect, later identified as Joshua Westbrook, 21, of Quincy, was placed under arrest and charged with Unarmed Assault to Rob. Westbrook will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court. The suspect that fled made good his escape and the incident remains under investigation.
