ONE LESS GUN: Suspect in Custody After BPD Officers Recover Loaded Firearm During Investigation in Roxbury

On Friday, May 11, 2018, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Richard Dilworth, 21, of Dorchester on firearm-related charges during an investigation in the area of 2030 Columbus Avenue in Roxbury. Officers performed a pat frisk of the suspect which led to the recovery of a loaded 9mm Ruger handgun (see photo) with an obliterated serial number which was found in the waistband of the suspect's pants. The suspect was placed in custody after a brief struggle. The suspect is scheduled to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on Monday, May 14, 2018, on the following charges:

  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
  • Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm on Public Way
  • Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
  • Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number
  • Resisting Arrest
