One Less Gun: Two Suspects in Custody after BPD Officers Recover Three Loaded Firearms during Three Separate Incidents

FIREARM SEIZED DURING INCIDENT #2

INCIDENT #1: At about 3:13 PM on Tuesday May 29, 2018, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to a call for a found firearm in the area of 10 Lattimore Court in Lower Roxbury. On arrival, officers located and recovered a loaded 9mm Lorcin handgun which has since been handed over to the BPD Firearms Analysis Unit for processing.

INCIDENT #2: At about 7:31 PM on Tuesday May 29, 2018, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested James Witkowski-Owens, 23, of Randolph, on firearm related charges after recovering a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson model SW9VE handgun during an investigation in the area of Washington and Williams Streets in Roxbury. The suspect will appear in Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

INCIDENT #3: At about 11:48 PM on Tuesday May 29, 2018, officers assigned to the District B-2 (Roxbury) Drug Control Unit arrested Anthony Johnson, 34, of Dorchester, on firearm and drug related charges after recovering a loaded .40 caliber Taurus Millenium G2 PT140 handgun and several small bags of crack cocaine during an investigation in the area of 99 Wayland Street in Dorchester. The suspect will appear in Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (2nd and Subsequent), Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs.
