Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Quick Response by BPD Officers Leads to Arrest After Home Invasion in Dorchester

At about 2:32 AM on Saturday, June 16, 2018, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) arrested Taurean Pearson, 36, of Boston, on multiple charges after responding to a call for a breaking and entering in progress in the area of 42 Lyon Street in Dorchester. During the incident, the suspect forcibly entered an apartment after falsely identifying himself as a police officer. After an adult male victim pushed the suspect out of his apartment entryway, the suspect produced a knife and slashed the victim on his wrist. Responding officers quickly located the suspect as he attempted to flee on foot in the area of 34 Lyon Street and placed him in custody without further incident after he was positively identified. Officers recovered the knife and seized it as evidence. The victim was evaluated by EMS on scene but refused further medical attention. The suspect will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Home Invasion, Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon and Malicious Destruction of Property.
