One Less Gun: BPD Officers Respond to the area of Franklin Park for a Found Weapon

At about 8:49PM, on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury), responded to the area of 6 Jewish War Veterans Drive in Boston for a found firearm. Upon arrival, officers were met by the caller who stated she was walking along Jewish War Veterans Drive, on the golf course side of the street, when her child picked up a small frame semi-automatic pistol from a crack in a granite slab, located adjacent to the sidewalk. The mother ordered her child to put the firearm down and telephoned 911.  The caller walked officers to the firearm’s location where they observed a small framed 9mm pistol resting with the muzzle straight up in the air between the granite slab.  Area B-2 detectives responded to the scene to recover and secure the firearm.
