BPD Officer Bitten While Attempting to Book Suspect after Two Are Arrested During Assault and Battery in Dorchester

 

At about 9:47 PM on Sunday, June 24, 2018, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested two individuals after on siting an assault and battery in progress in the area of 263 Fuller Street in Dorchester. The officers were responding to a call for a loud music complaint at a nearby address when they observed two males aggressively pushing and shoving each other in the middle of the street. Officers stopped and exited their cruiser at which time they began to give verbal commands for the two men, later identified as Lacorey Waiters, 25, of Dorchester, and Travis White, 27, of Mattapan, to separate and leave the area. Officers intervened and arrested both suspects after they refused to comply and continued their aggressive and violent behavior. During the booking process, Lacorey Waiters attacked the officers, biting one of them on his right leg as they attempted to restrain him.

Both suspects will appear in Dorchester District Court on multiple charges. Lacorey Waiters will be charged with Assault and Battery, Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Affray and Threats. Travis White will be charged with Assault and Battery, Resisting Arrest, Disturbing the Peace, Disorderly Conduct and Affray.
