Quick Response Enables BPD Officers to Apprehend Suspect Wanted in Connection to Unarmed Bank Robbery in Hyde Park: At about 12:50 PM on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, officers from District E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a call for an armed robbery in progress at the Santander Bank at 860 River Street in Hyde Park. Within seconds, officers were on scene and were met by a bank employee yelling, “That’s him,” while frantically pointing in the direction of the suspect walking away from the scene. Upon seeing the approaching officers, the suspect took off running. After a brief foot pursuit, officers were able to chase down and apprehend the suspect. According to witnesses, the suspect, who showed no weapons, walked up to one of the bank tellers and handed her a note demanding money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of US Currency, the suspect walked out of the bank where he soon encountered responding officers.

Officers arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile from Boston and charged him with Unarmed Bank Robbery.
