BPD in the Community: Special Olympics Massachusetts Kicks off with Law Enforcement Torch Run

It was all smiles last night at the Special Olympics Massachusetts Law Enforcement Torch Run and opening ceremonies held on Nickerson Field at Boston University. Boston Police Superintendent-in-Chief William Gross, members of the Boston Police Department, BU Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, and many other police agencies from across the state were honored to run with and escort the participants onto the field to kick off this year’s competitions! Through this year’s Law Enforcement Torch Run, members of the MA law enforcement community were able to raise over $620,000 to donate to Special Olympics Massachusetts and to support the athletes who live, work, and compete in their local communities. A job well done to both the officers and the athletes!
