Daily Dose of Great Police Work: BPD Fugitive Unit Simultaneously Arrest Two Wanted Suspects During Investigation in Roxbury

 

At about 6:10 PM on Thursday August 9, 2018, officers assigned to the Boston Police Fugitive Unit located and arrested Diovanni Carter, 28, of Dorchester, in the area of Marcella Street and Centre Street in Roxbury. The arrest comes as a result of an investigation into a shots fired incident that occurred at about 8:53 PM on Monday July 16, 2018, in the area of 11 Elmhurst Street in Dorchester. Detectives were able to identify the suspect and received a warrant out of Dorchester District Court on numerous charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (2nd and Subsequent), Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon and Armed Career Criminal (Level 2).

Officers also arrested, Sean Berry, 27, of Brockton, who was with the primary suspect at the time of his arrest and was wanted on an unrelated outstanding warrant sought out of Plymouth Superior Court on charges of Armed Carjacking, Armed Robbery and Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.

Both suspects were placed in custody without incident and are expected to be arraigned later today in Roxbury District Court.
