ARREST WARRANT LEADS TO ONE ARREST AND THE RECOVERY OF 3 GUNSAt about 11:41am, on Tuesday, October 9, 2007, members of the Boston Police Special Investigation Unit, Youth Violence Strike Force, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms and officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) were in the area of Norfolk Street serving an arrest and search warrant for the suspect, Henry John, 26, of Dorchester. The suspect was located and apprehended without incident at 480 Norfolk Street. After arresting the suspect, officers then conducted a search of the premise. During the search, officers recovered three firearms (Raven 25 caliber, Beretta 40 caliber, Tech 9 mm), two bulletproof vests and large amounts of marijuana and crack cocaine. In addition to the above, officers also recovered a number of plastic bags and a digital scale. Officers arrested Henry John, 26, of Dorchester and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm & Ammunition and Possession with Intent to Distribute Drugs. SHOOTING SUSPECT ARRESTED IN JAMAICA PLAIN At about 4:20am, on Sunday, September 2, 2007, officers from Area E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of Germania and Haverford Streets. On arrival, officers were informed that the victim had been transported, via a concerned third party, to the Brigham & Women’s Hospital. Before departing to the hospital, officers spoke to witnesses who provided a description of the suspects and their motor vehicle. On arrival at the hospital, officers located the shooting victim. According to medical personnel, the victim’s injuries were non-life threatening. Approximately, four weeks later, at 9:00am, on Tuesday, October 10, 2007, an officer performing a paid detail in the area of 60 Iffley Road, observed an individual wanted in connection with the above shooting. After confirming the identity of the suspect, the detail officer approached the suspect and placed him under arrest. Officers arrested Yohan Gomes, 20, of Roslindale and charged him with Assault with Intent to Murder and Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapons (Gun). STABBING SUSPECT ARRESTED IN ROXBURY At about 9:14am, on Tuesday, October 9, 2007, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person stabbed in the area of 139 Blue Hill Avenue. On arrival, officers located an individual suffering from an apparent stab wound. Officers spoke to the victim who stated, “Some Hispanic dude ran up to me and stabbed me.” The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The victim was transported to the Boston Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Approximately 20 minutes later, officers located an individual matching the description provided by the victim. Officers spoke to the suspect who stated that the victim knocked on his front door. According to the suspect, the victim was trying to gain entry into his apartment. Suspect further stated that he and the victim got into a physical altercation and, while he did have a knife in his hand, he did not remember stabbing the victim. Officers arrested Ramon Castro, 40, of Roxbury and charged him with Assault & Battey with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
