This morning sixty-seven recruits from Boston Police Department recruit class 46-07 stopped by the West Roxbury Fire House during their regular morning physical traning to lay a wreath in honor of the fallen firefighters.The sixty-seven recruit officers stood at attention during the ceremony and all of the onlookers seemed to be quite moved by the ceremony and the gesture. The on-duty firefighters came out of the firehouse as the recruit class presented arms and there followed a moment of silence. This display was so moving that passing traffic on Centre Street stopped to observe what was taking place and show respect.
Cops for Kids with Cancer, a charity supported by the Boston Police Department presented a check for $5000.00 to Floating Hospital's Cancer Center on May 21, 2007
On January 24, 2007, at about 12:43 pm, a Boston Police officer responded to 91 Thornton Street for a missing person report. Investigators met with the family of Warren Daniel Hairston, who reported him missing and were concerned about the circumstances. A missing person investigation was then initiated. Boston Police detectives aggressively investigated the facts and circumstances surrounding Mr. Hairston’s disappearance and actively attempted to determine his whereabouts.On January 27, 2007, at approximately 1:08pm, officers in District 2 responded to a radio call for a found body at 57 Dewey Street. On arrival, officers located a black male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced at the scene. The victim has been identified as Warren Daniel Hairston, 21, of Roxbury. Detectives are asking for the public’s help and urge anyone with information about this incident to contact them at 617-343-4470 or to remain anonymous by calling the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-800-494-TIPS. The Boston Police will protect the identity of those who wish to remain anonymous.
