Police Arrest One for Armed Robbery with the Help of Two Good Samaritans in the area of 75 Boylston St.


At about, 7:40 PM, Wednesday, October 2, 2013, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) were flagged down by the victim of an Armed Robbery while on patrol in the area of 75 Boylston St. (Boston Commons), Downtown.

While on patrol, officers observed a male suspect who was being chased across the park by a female victim and a male victim. Officers then observed a Good Samaritan tackle one of the suspects to the ground, allowing officers to apprehend the suspect. With assistance from two Good Samaritans and the victims, officers determined one of the male suspects robbed the victim of her cell phone. While the victim was distracted, a second suspect came from behind the victim and stole her laptop from under her backpack. During a brief struggle, one of the male suspects pulled a knife from his pocket, threatened the victims, and then fled on foot. Officers observed a folding knife, a lighter, and a watch under the male suspect while he was being apprehended. A search for the second suspect led to no avail.

Police arrested a 17 year old male from Dorchester. The suspect was charged with Armed Robbery and Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon- Knife.
