‘Ride Along Victim’ Aids Police in Capture of Two Suspects for Armed Robbery in South Boston


At about 6:33pm on Monday, November 11, 2013 officers from District C-6(South Boston) while on patrol in the area of D street heard a male yelling, "THEY TOOK MY CELL PHONE AND ONE PUT A GUN IN MY FACE”. 

The victim described suspect #1 as a black male, tall, wearing a black North Face coat and carrying a black back pack; suspect #2 was described as a light skinned black male, short.  Both suspects were on bicycles.  Officers canvased the area, and as they approached West 7th and Old Colony Avenue, they observed one of the suspects matching the description given by the victim.  

After a short foot pursuit, officers apprehended Hector McClain, 22, of Dorchester.  A 45 Cal Replica handgun, a cell phone (belonging to the victim), and three plastic bags of marijuana were recovered from the suspect. A short distance away the second suspect, a 17 year old, also of Dorchester was located and positively identified by the victim. 

Both suspects were arrested and charged with Armed Robbery.  McClain faces an additional charge of Possession W/I to Distribute, Class D marijuana.   McClain is expected to appear in South Boston District Court and the 17 year old in Boston Juvenile Court today.
