Being Not So Social Media on Facebook Lands Three Behind Bars

At about 5:40pm, Monday, December 30, 2013, officers responded to a radio call for a fight in the area of 33 Kingsdale Street.

On arrival, officers spoke with a female victim who stated she and another female had arranged to fight on Facebook and meet at the above to carry out the act. During the fight, several males who were in attendance intervened and it quickly escalated into a large brawl. 

The female victim told the officers that during the fight, a male suspect struck her in the face with a closed fist and began kicking a second female victim who was on the ground. A second male suspect then brandished a firearm towards the female victims.   

A witness in the area observed the physical altercation and observed two male suspects with firearms.  The witness, who was fearful for the safety of others and himself, intervened and displayed his firearm at the armed suspects and demanded they leave the area.  The suspects fled the area. The witness is licensed to carry a firearm. 

Later at about 10:55pm, officers responded to the area of 961 Blue Hill Avenue, relative to the earlier incident on Kingsdale Street.

Officers were directed to 965 Blue Hill Avenue and inside located the suspects.  A “No Trespassing” sign was posted outside of the building. 

During their investigation of the suspects, officers recovered a black and silver BB Gun with a duct tape on the handle from one of the male suspects. 

This 16 year old male, was arrested for Trespassing, Intimidation of a Witness, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon to wit Gun, Assault and Battery, Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon to wit Shod Foot and Possession of a BB gun by a minor in a public place.

Also arrested was a second 16 year old male, charged with Trespassing, Intimidation of a Witness, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon to wit Gun, and Assault and Battery, and a 16 year old female charged with Trespassing, and Intimidation of a Witness.
