Boston School Police Arrest Sibling of Student for Possession of Firearm in Hyde Park


At about 11:00 AM on Friday, June 21,2013 Boston Police officers from E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to New Mission School and BCLA, 655 Metropolitan Avenue, Hyde Park,  for a call to assist Boston School Police.

On arrival officers spoke to Boston School Police who stated a sibling of a student entered the building with a weapon. Families were invited into the school today for a special event. An alert school employee noticed the weapon and notified school police, who after a struggle were able to confiscate the weapon. As is protocol, both schools went into safe mode and parents were notified. No students were injured.

A male suspect is in custody. Two School Police Officers are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
