Police Investigate Person Stabbed in the area of 262 Friend St.


At about 1:15 AM, Saturday, January 18, 2014, while working a paid detail, an officer was alerted of a Person Stabbed in the area of 262 Friend Street (The Greatest Bar) in the Downtown area. 

While at the front door of the Greatest Bar, the detail officer was notified by the staff that there was a large fight on the third floor. As the officer attempted to go upstairs he was directed to an injured employee outside of the location in a taxi cab. The employee appeared to be suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim stated to officers he was attempting to break up a fight when the suspect jumped on his back and began to stab him. The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers spoke with another employee who stated he ran upstairs to assist his co-workers with the fight when he was met by several black males running down the stairs. When the employee attempted to stop the males from leaving one of the male's brandished a knife telling him not to move and threatened to stab the victim. 

 An additional victim  stated he was hit over the head with a bottle during the fight. 

The District A-1 detectives are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (617) 343-4248.
