Police Investigate a Carjacking in the area of Shawmut Ave. and Marginal Rd.


At about 11:47 PM, Saturday January 18, 2014, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a Carjacking in the area of Shawmut Avenue and Marginal Road in the Downtown Area.

On arrival officers spoke with the victims, who stated that as they had approached their vehicle, which was parked on Shawmut Ave., they had observed a male to be in the driver’s seat of the vehicle.  The male victim stated that as he attempted to open the door, the suspect drove off, dragging him for a short distance. The victim was treated on scene for minor injuries.

The victims further stated they had observed their vehicle travel onto Marginal Road before they lost sight of it. The suspect then returned to the scene to retrieve a scooter he had left behind. The victims stated the suspect began shouting at them before fleeing the area again.   

The District A-1 detectives are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (617) 343-4248.
