Daily Dose of Great Police Work: After School Altercation Lands One Juvenile in Jail after Threatening Another with a Knife


At about 2:11pm, on Tuesday, January 7, 2013, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) were on patrol in the area of Polk & Bunker Hill Streets when officers observed what appeared to be an altercation between two groups of high school students. Upon seeing the disturbance, officers promptly exited their police cruiser and separated the combatants. After separating the parties, officers spoke to one student, herein identified as the victim, who stated that he had gotten into an argument with another student during the school day that continued after school had ended. According to the victim, the suspect approached him and threatened him with a knife. Several witnesses confirmed seeing the suspect in possession of a weapon. A search of the area enabled officers from both the BPD and the Boston School Police to locate and apprehend the suspect. 

Officers arrested a male juvenile and charged him with Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
