Daily Dose of Great Police Work: NY Murder Suspect Caught in Boston


At about 3:30 PM, on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit arrested a 32-year-old woman wanted in connection for a brutal stabbing death in New York City. 

Chivona Hughes, was wanted for a homicide that occurred on September 21, 2014, in the Brooklyn section of New York. It is alleged that she stabbed a male 75 times in his home causing his death. NYPD Detectives requested the assistance of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit after information was gathered that indicated Hughes may be in the Boston area. Working closely with NYPD Detectives, The BPD Fugitive Unit commenced an investigation into her whereabouts. During the second day of the investigation Detectives were able to locate Hughes in the area of Blue Hill Avenue in Mattapan. Hughes, who initially gave investigators several false names, was taken into custody and charged with being a Fugitive from Justice. She has since been brought back to New York to face the charge of Murder.
