At about 1:08 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2014, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for shots fired in the area of Boylston Street and Dartmouth Street in the Back Bay area.
While en route to the call, officers were notified that four black male suspects had fled the area and one of them had handed the firearm off to another male in a wheelchair. Officers searched the area and observed a male matching the description of the suspects traveling with a male in a wheelchair. The two individuals abruptly moved away from a dumpster they were standing next to upon seeing officers. Officers detained the two individuals and began to search the area for a firearm. Officers quickly located a black revolver with a brown handle loaded with five rounds of live ammunition and one spent shell casing in the dumpster in which the two males were standing next to. Officers returned to the scene of the incident and spoke with witnesses and obtained a detailed description of the three additional suspects who were seen handling the firearm before the shots had been fired. Officers located three males matching the description enter a motor vehicle in the area of Newbury Street and Clarendon Street. Officers initiated a traffic stop in the area of 130 Dartmouth Street. At this time officers approached the vehicle and observed a recent bullet hole in the rear passenger corner panel of the car. Officers observed several live rounds of ammunition in plain view. Further investigation led to the arrest of four individuals with an additional male receiving a summons.
Officers arrested 26-year-old Marcus Singletary-Sullivan of Roxbury, 22-year-old Le’Sean Wells of Dorchester, 28-year-old Leroy Wells, of Dorchester, and 23-year-old Damion Johnson of Dorchester. Singletary-Sullivan is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), and Possession of Class B Drugs. Le’Sean Wells is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Firearm Discharged within 500 ft. of a Dwelling, and Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). Leroy Wells and Johnson are charged with Attempt to Commit a Crime (Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon).
