Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Foiled Plot to Steal Sneakers Lands Three Behind Bars in Roslindale


At about 7:15 PM on Monday, October 28, 2014, officers from District E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a radio call for a shoplifting in the area of 634 American Legion Highway (Expressions Clothing Store) in Roslindale.

On arrival, officers observed the manager of the store detaining three Hispanic males. Officers then spoke to the manager who stated that three employees had created an elaborate plan to steal multiple pairs of sneakers from the store. The suspects packed up dozens of boxes containing both sneakers and shoes into shipping boxes in an effort to make them look like trash then placed them outside of the store next to a dumpster to be picked up later. Officers placed the suspects under arrest and recovered all of the stolen property valued in excess of $6000.00

Officers arrested 20-year-old Emilio Jimenez of Jamaica Plain, 20-year-old Victor Pimentel of Roxbury, and 18-year-old Taj Joseph of Hyde Park. All are charged with Larceny Over $250.
