Remembering MIT Police Officer Sean Collier

Remembering MIT Police Officer Sean Collier: On September 11, 2014, members of the Boston Police Department along with officers from surrounding towns rode their bikes from Boston to New York in an effort to raise money in support of MIT Police Officer Sean Collier who was tragically killed in the line of duty in the days following the attack on our Boston Marathon. On Wednesday, December 3, 2014, Commissioner Evans presented a check in the amount of $28,500 to MIT Police Chief John DiFava. The monies will be used to fund a scholarship for an incoming MIT recruit officer. Said Chief DiFava: “Losing Sean is something we will never fully recover from but knowing he’ll never be forgotten means so much to Sean’s family and his fellow officers and we thank you for remembering his sacrifice.”
