The Boston Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident that occurred on District D-4 (South End) at about 6:00 AM on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in the area of 395 Mass Ave. During the incident, a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle that fled the scene. The victim was transported by EMS to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The outbound lanes of Mass Ave remain closed from Saint Botolph Street to Columbus Avenue. Traffic in the area will be impacted.
Police have since located a vehicle believed to be involved with this incident and continue to investigate. The Boston Police Department is actively investigating all facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.
