Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Less Than Graceful Exit Lands Suspect in Police Custody in South Boston

At about 9:15am, on Saturday, March 29, 2014, officers from District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for a possible home invasion in the area of 325 E. Eighth Street in South Boston. On arrival, officers located the victim who stated that the suspect was still on location and could be found lying in the rear stairwell.  According to the victim, the suspect (described as a white male wearing a green jacket and blue jeans) attempted to push or force his way into his apartment. The victim further stated that the suspect, upon hearing the arrival of the officers, ran to the second floor where he was seen jumping out of a 2nd story window in an effort to make good his escape. A search of the area enabled officers to locate the suspect who was found lying on the ground in the rear of the property and complaining of pain to both ankles.

Officers arrested Andrew Harwood, 26, of Malden and charged him with Home Invasion.
