Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Breaking and Entering Allows Officers to Arrest Two and Recover Stolen Property in Jamaica Plain


At about 7:03 PM, on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering in progress in the area of 975 Centre Street in Jamaica Plain.

On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that as she returned home, she observed an open window, open door and two individuals unknown to her (a male and a female) exiting her residence by way of the back door. The victim further states that she observed the suspects fleeing towards the Arboretum. After speaking to the victim, officers promptly broadcast a description of the suspects over the police radio. In short time, officers on patrol in the area were able to locate two individuals matching the description of the suspects. After the suspects were positively identified, officers arrested the suspects and recovered all of the victim’s stolen property including the victim’s laptop as well as several pieces of jewelry.

Officers arrested 30-year-old Barry Taylor of Dedham and 30-year-old Alexandria Vega of Roslindale. Both are charged with Breaking & Entering of a Dwelling, Larceny Over $250 and Buying, Receiving or Concealing Stolen Goods.
