At about 12:07 AM on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, officers from District E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a radio call for a larceny in progress in the area of 10 Cleveland Street, Hyde Park.
Upon arrival, officers were told by a witness and victim that two black males, one carrying a camouflage backpack, and both wearing red baseball caps, black shirts, and shorts, had entered a locked rear porch in the area and stolen two bicycles. The victim was able to show the officers pictures of the bicycles and stated they each had a flat tire.
Officers canvassed the area and soon observed two males fitting the descriptions of the suspects and pushing bicycles through a yard near Gordon Avenue. When one officer illuminated the suspects with his flashlight, the suspects dropped the bikes and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, officers were able to stop the suspects, identify them as the perpetrators, and identify the bikes as the stolen property.
Officers arrested 19-year-old Frantz Francois and a 16-year-old juvenile, both of Roslindale, and they were charged with Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime and Larceny from a Building.
