UPDATE: BPD Detectives Arrest Suspect in Arnold Arboretum Sexual Assault Incident


On Thursday, June 26, 2014, detectives from the Boston Police Sexual Assault Unit were able to affect an arrest in relation to a sexual assault that took place in the Arnold Arboretum in District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) at about 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 25, 2014.

In partnership with the Department of Probation, SAU detectives used electronic monitoring to search for individuals under GPS surveillance in the area at the time of the incident.

Twenty-three-year-old Ashton Davis of Roxbury was identified as being in the area of the crime scene at the time of the incident, and further investigation allowed officers to identify Davis as the suspect and arrest him without incident.

Due to the diligent work and superior investigative skills of the BPD Sexual Assault Unit, detectives have been able to arrest two suspects in two separate sexual assault incidents this week.
