At about 3:00 AM on Monday, August 18, 2014, officers from District A-7 (East Boston) responded to a radio call for a person with a gun in the area of 63 Maverick Street in East Boston.
On arrival, officers were informed that three males in the area had been causing a disturbance in the residential neighborhood. Officers spoke to individuals in the area who provided descriptions of the males and informed officers that one of them had been in possession of a revolver. As officers arrived on scene, they observed an unknown black male, matching the description of one of the suspects, running on Havre Street towards Sumner Street. The male had been sweating profusely and appeared to be out of breath. Officers then observed two other black males, also matching the description of the suspects in the rear of 18 London Street. A search of the area in which the suspects had been, allowed officers to locate a FIE Corp Titanic .32 Long Caliber five shot revolver loaded with two live rounds of ammunition in the rear of 55 Maverick Street.
Officers arrested two 17-year-old juvenile males and 20-year-old Remi Jones of Cambridge. All three suspects are charged with Disturbing the Peace. Jones faces an additional charge of Trespassing while one of the juveniles is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
