Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Nab Known Breaking and Entering Suspect in the Fenway

At about 2:50 AM on Thursday, August 21, 2014, officers from District D-4 (South End) made an onsite arrest of a suspect for breaking and entering a motor vehicle in the area of 108 Jersey Street.

While on patrol in the Fenway neighborhood, officers observed a gray Jeep Wrangler with its rear driver side soft-top window ajar. As officers approached the vehicle, they observed a male inside rummaging around in the back seat. The officers engaged the male in conversation and were told that the vehicle did not belong to him. When officers requested the male to exit the vehicle, he at first refused, but then abruptly ran out the passenger side door and fled on foot. Officers gave chase and ultimately apprehended the suspect a short distance away.

Officers arrested 39-year-old Mark Coburn of Boston for Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle; Nighttime, as well as an outstanding default warrant for a similar charge.
