Community Alert: Boston Police Investigate Indecent Assault of a Female Juvenile in the South End


At about 8:10 PM on Sunday, September 7, 2014, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a report of a sexual assault in the area of Shawmut Avenue and Brandon Harris Way in Roxbury.  

On arrival, officers spoke to witnesses who stated that a group of children were playing in the area of the above location when they were approached by an unknown black male. The male proceeded to indecently assault the juvenile female victim over her clothing. The suspect then fled on foot toward Lenox Street. Witnesses reported the suspect may be familiar to the area. 

The suspect is described as a black or Hispanic male in his mid to late thirties, bald, approximately 5’6” to 5’8” tall, medium build, wearing a white tee shirt, dark colored pants or jeans, and dark colored foot wear.   

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sexual Assault Unit detectives at 617-343-4400.
