Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Partnership and Collaboration Between Boston Police and Barnstable Police Detectives Leads to Arrest of Fugitive in Roxbury


On December 15, 2014 at approximately 1:46 PM Barnstable Patrol officers responded to 35 Fresh Holes Road, Hyannis for a reported home invasion. Upon arrival officers spoke with the victim who stated that two black males armed with firearms forced their way into his home and robbed him of cash. A Barnstable County Identification (BCI) Officer responded to Fresh Holes Road to photograph and process the scene. That Officer was able to obtain forensic evidence from the scene which led to the identification of Anthony J Dixon, 28 of Randolph.  Barnstable Police Detectives obtained information that Anthony J Dixon was scheduled for a court appearance yesterday, January 14, 2015, at the Roxbury District Court on unrelated matters.  Barnstable Detectives along with the assistance of Boston Detectives set up surveillance in the area of the Roxbury court house. At approximately 9:15 AM, the suspect was spotted walking in the area. Dixon was arrested and charged with Home Invasion, Armed Career Criminal and Armed Robbery. Dixon was subsequently transported to Barnstable District Court where he was held without bail pending a dangerous hearing scheduled for tomorrowFriday January, 16, 2015 at the Barnstable District Court.
