One Less Gun: Anonymous Tip Leads to Cache of Weapons and Ballistic Vests

At about 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, members of the District B-3 (Mattapan) Drug Control Unit responded to an anonymous tip which led to the recovery of a firearm in the area of Clayton and Dickens Streets in Dorchester.

Officers responded to the area and set up surveillance when they observed the red nylon bag described by the anonymous source.  From the bag, officers were able to safely recover a semi-automatic .32 caliber Tanfoglio Giuseppe firearm with one empty magazine attached.  Officers also recovered two bullet proof vests and two tasers from inside the bag.  All items were seized by detectives for processing.

The BPD would like to thank the member of the community who stepped up and provided this tip. Due to this person's bravery, there is now one less illegal gun on the street.
