Daily Dose of Great Police Work: BPD Officers Apprehend Three Armed Robbers on Massachusetts Avenue

At about 10:10 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015, officers from District D-4 (South End/Lower Roxbury) responded to a radio call for an armed robbery in the area of Columbus Avenue and West Rutland Square near Sparrow Park.

Officers were informed that three black or Hispanic males had just robbed a victim at gunpoint while wearing face masks.  The suspects then fled on foot along the Southwest Corridor towards Massachusetts Avenue.  All of the suspects were wearing dark clothing and two were carrying backpacks.  Officers assigned to the District’s Anti-Crime car quickly located three suspects matching the given description in the area of 333 Massachusetts Avenue.  All three suspects were positively identified and placed under arrest.  The three suspects, ages 15, 15 and 13, will appear at Boston Juvenile Court on charges of Delinquent to wit; Armed Assault with Intent to Rob . 

Officers were able to recover two face masks as well as a Comrade AK-47 Machine Gun styled BB gun and a Comrade Semiautomatic Handgun styled BB gun.  Both weapons appeared to be authentic and have been turned over to the District Four Detectives as evidence.

The community is a safer place thanks to the quick actions and outstanding police work by the officers of District Four.
