At about 11:50 PM, on Thursday, May 21, 2015, officers from District E-5 (West Roxbury) responded to a call for a hit and run accident involving a pedestrian in the area of Washington and Walworth Streets. On arrival, officers observed a male victim, believed to be in his early twenties, suffering from what appeared to be life threatening injuries. The victim remains hospitalized at this time.
On Tuesday, June 2, 2015, acting on a tip from a concerned citizen, detectives from District E-5 were able to locate the operator and the motor vehicle involved in the incident. The car has been towed and will be processed after a search warrant is acquired. The operator, 25 year-old Eddie Cartagena of Boston, has been interviewed by detectives and will be summonsed to appear in West Roxbury District Court on several motor vehicle related charges.
