One Less Gun: Drug Investigation Enables BPD Officers to Recover a Gun and Place Four in Custody

Last night, Monday, July 6, 2015, officers assigned to the District B-2 (Roxbury) Drug Control Unit were conducting an investigation in the area of Winthrop and Fairland Streets in Roxbury when officers observed the target of their investigation operating a gold-colored motor vehicle occupied by four individuals. As a result of observations made indicating that the individual was involved in activities consistent with those seen during drug transactions, officers stopped the vehicle. A search of the vehicle enabled officers to see and recover a loaded, silver-colored Lorcin .25 caliber firearm (Model LT-25) (see photo). The gun, which included a partially obliterated Serial number, was loaded with six rounds.

Officers arrested Jose Rivera, 20, of Hyde Park, Darnell Moore, 19, of Hyde Park, Jonathan Vasquez, 20, of Dorchester and charged all three with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of a Firearm with an Altered Serial Number.

Officers arrested Victor Villanueva-Cuadrado, 30, of Jamaica Plain and charged him with Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License and Providing a False Name to Police.
