BPD Seeks Public's Help with Investigation into A&B on Elderly Victim in Downtown Boston


At about 7:30 AM on Wednesday July 8, 2015, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a call for an assault and battery which occurred in the area of Chauncey and Essex Streets.  During the incident, the suspect, later identified as Tajanetta Downing, 24, of Lawrence, pushed an elderly Asian female to the ground causing serious injuries.  The suspect has been arraigned at Boston Municipal Court on charges of Aggravated Assault and Battery and Aggravated Assault and Battery on a Person Over the Age of 60.  The victim remains at a local hospital in critical condition.
