INCIDENT #2:  At about 12:30 AM on Sunday, August 9, 2015, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested two suspects on firearms charges in the area of 15 Crawford Street in District C-11 (Dorchester).  Officers were on directed patrol in the area in response to several recent incidents involving gang related activity and gun violence.  Officers observed a motor vehicle driving slowly through the neighborhood in a suspicious manner which then drove through several stop signs without stopping.  Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the operator sped up and refused to pull over until ultimately pulling into a driveway on Crawford Street at which time the operator, later identified as Herby Paul, 20, of Hyde Park and the passenger, later identified as Chinonso Nwosu, 20, of Hyde Park, jumped out of the car and fled on foot.  After a brief foot pursuit, officers were able to take both suspects into custody.  Officers then quickly located and recovered a loaded Black Rossi .38 Special revolver inside a black nylon holster which had been discarded by the passenger as he fled.

Both suspects will appear in Roxbury District Court.  Herby Paul will be charged with Failure to Stop for a Police Officer, Driving to Endanger, Operating a Motor Vehicle After Suspension/Revocation and Trespassing.  Chinonso Nwosu will be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm and Trespassing.
