Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Administer CPR, Save 4-Year-Old’s Life in Dorchester


At about 8:00 PM on Saturday, January 9, 2016, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a child in distress in the area of 256 Adams Street.

Upon arrival, officers were met by the victim’s mother, who stated her 4-year-old daughter was suffering from uncontrollable seizures. The officers observed the child to be unresponsive and not breathing. The officers immediately began to administer CPR which resuscitated the child’s breathing. Boston Fire also responded and provided oxygen on-scene. Boston EMTs stabilized the victim and transported her to Boston Children’s Hospital, where she was responsive and in good care.
