One Less Gun: BPD Officers Arrest One on Gun Related Charges in South Boston: At about 6:00 PM on Monday December 12, 2016, officers from District C-6 (South Boston) were on patrol in the area of the Old Colony Development when they observed an individual acting in a suspicious manner. Specifically, officers observed the individual to be involved in what appeared to be several drug transactions. After watching the individual for several minutes, officers approached him to inquire about his activities. While approaching the individual, officers observed the suspect grab at an object in his waist area. In light of these observations, officers told the suspect to not move his hands towards his clothing. After a brief struggle, officers were able to locate and recover a loaded firearm (see photo) from the suspect’s right pocket. Officers arrested Mohamed Habib, 19, of South Boston and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm and Resisting Arrest. The suspect will be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
